The Rest Your Body Has Been Waiting For

A monthly sound bath experience combining gentle yoga and deeply restorative sound meditation — designed to bring you all the way back to yourself.

1st Sundays | 2:00–3:30pm | The Cornwell Center, Charlotte

Sound familiar?

You're tired but can't quite rest.
You're functioning — keeping up, showing up, doing the things — but something underneath feels off. Your shoulders haven't fully dropped in weeks.
You lie down at night and your brain has other plans.

You're not broken. You're just running on empty in a world that keeps asking for more.

This is what a chronically activated nervous system feels like. And it's more common right now than you might think.

The good news: your body knows how to restore itself. It just needs the right conditions.

What to expect

The first 30 minutes — Gentle Movement
We begin with slow, grounded yoga designed to release the tension your body has been quietly holding. No flexibility required.
No experience necessary.
Just simple, compassionate movement that helps you arrive in your body and leave the day behind.

The next 60 minutes — Sound Journey
You'll settle onto a mat and be guided into deep rest through the sounds of crystal and Tibetan singing bowls. The frequencies work directly on your nervous system — physically shifting you out of stress response and into the parasympathetic state where real healing and restoration happen.

You don't have to try to relax. The sound does it for you.

The science, kept simple

Why sound works when nothing else does

Most of us have tried to rest our way out of overwhelm. We know we should meditate. We know we should sleep more. But when your nervous system is stuck in overdrive, effort doesn't help — it just adds to the noise.

Sound frequencies bypass that. They speak directly to your body in a language it already understands, gently guiding your brain into theta wave states — the same deep stillness experienced in advanced meditation — without requiring any practice or skill.

You just receive it.

This is for you if...

  • You carry stress in your body and can feel it but can't seem to shake it

  • You've tried meditation and your brain won't cooperate

  • You're a caregiver, helper, or high-achiever who gives a lot and rarely receives

  • You're navigating a hard season and need somewhere safe to put it down for a while

  • You're simply curious and your gut said yes when you found this page

No experience needed.
All bodies welcome.

First time? You're going to be just fine.
